What is an e-invoice?

An e-invoice is a machine-readable invoice that is entered into the system once and the data in which is machine-readable between computers (XML file).

More information about e-invoices can be found HERE.

As an e-invoice is a machine-readable (XML) document, it moves directly between accounting software systems. This means that all invoice data, such as the date, invoice line details, and VAT amount, are automatically transferred to the accounting system – without manual entry and the errors that come with it.

📌 E-invoice ≠ PDF invoice
A PDF is digital, but not machine-readable or machine-processable. An e-invoice moves from system to system – without the intermediate steps of “Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V.” The result is a faster workflow, fewer errors, and transparent data exchange between partners.
